What Is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is a regenerative orthopedic treatment that uses a concentrated portion of a patient’s own blood to support healing in joints, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissue. At Hero Medical Center, PRP therapy is offered as part of a physician-led, evaluation-first care plan, tailored to each patient’s condition and goals.

PRP therapy involves collecting a small blood sample and processing it to concentrate platelets—components that play a role in the body’s natural healing response. The concentrated PRP is then delivered to targeted areas as part of an individualized orthopedic treatment plan.

PRP uses autologous material (from the patient) and does not involve surgery.

PRP therapy is not appropriate for every patient or condition. Candidacy is determined only after a comprehensive medical consultation.

How PRP Therapy Is Used at Hero Medical Center

At Hero Medical Center, PRP therapy is used responsibly and conservatively for select orthopedic and sports-related conditions. It may be considered as a standalone option or in coordination with other regenerative or supportive therapies.

✦ Support tendon and ligament health
✦ Address mild to moderate joint degeneration
✦ Assist with sports or overuse injuries
✦ Complement regenerative treatment strategies

Treatment decisions are based on clinical findings—not on pre-set protocols.

Conditions Where PRP Therapy May Be Considered

Depending on medical evaluation, PRP therapy may be discussed for:

✦ Knee, hip, or shoulder joint degeneration
✦Tendinopathies (e.g., tennis elbow, patellar tendon irritation)

✦ Ligament or soft-tissue strain

✦ Mild to moderate osteoarthritis

✦ Sports-related or repetitive-use injuries

Not all conditions are appropriate for PRP. Advanced degeneration or structural damage may require alternative care.

Who May Be a Candidate?

PRP therapy may be appropriate for patients who:

✦ Have persistent orthopedic symptoms
✦ Prefer non-surgical treatment options
✦ Have not achieved relief with conservative care
✦ Are medically evaluated and understand that outcomes vary

A consultation is required to determine suitability.

What to Expect

✦ PRP preparation and treatment are performed in-office

✦ Treatment plans vary by condition and individual response

✦ Post-treatment soreness may occur temporarily

✦ Follow-up guidance is provided to support recovery

Your care team will review expected timelines and activity recommendations during consultation.

Our Philosophy on PRP Therapy

At Hero Medical Center, stem cell therapy is:

• Patient-specific, not standardized

• Orthopedic-focused, not generalized wellness

• Supportive, not a guaranteed outcome

We emphasize education, careful screening, and realistic expectations as part of responsible regenerative care.

Next Steps?

If you are exploring non-surgical options for joint or soft-tissue concerns, PRP therapy may be discussed as part of your evaluation.

Compliance Note: Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy is not appropriate for all conditions. Individual results vary. A medical evaluation is required to determine whether PRP therapy may be appropriate.

Compliance Policy:

Regenerative therapies are not appropriate for all conditions or all patients. A comprehensive medical evaluation is required to determine candidacy. Individual results vary. Some regenerative therapies discussed may not be FDA-approved but are permitted by the State of Florida when provided by a licensed physician in compliance with applicable regulations.
